“We love living on one floor with every room adjacent to one another.”
Thursday, August 20th, 2015
Luxury living in the heart of Uptown Waterloo is available right here at The Barrel Yards. Maybe you are looking to downsize, or you are ready to live closer to the amazing community that is steps from your door. Life at The Cooperage offers residents an ease of living, luxury amenities, and a location that can’t be beat. We have asked residents Dan and Penny some questions about their experiences moving into The Cooperage, and what they like most about their new home.
Dan and Penny have lived in Waterloo since 1977. Dan is a retired Ob/Gyn and Penny is a homemaker and volunteer for several charities, both graduates of the University of Western Ontario. They have two daughters and two grandchildren, all of who live in British Columbia. They travel as much as possible to BC to visit their family.
How did you become aware of the Barrel Yards?
Having lived in the area for the past 20 years, we have always driven by the area. Once The Barrel Yards started to go in we became curious and decided to check it out for ourselves.
How did you end up at The Cooperage?
It seemed like an easy decision. We were looking to downsize but we love our neighbourhood and didn’t want to move away from what we knew. Also, we were interested in renting and didn’t want to have to buy so The Cooperage was perfect for us.
How long have you been living at The Cooperage?
We have been living at The Cooperage since March 2015, and we couldn’t be happier.
What amenities would you say you enjoy using most?
We are excited to start using the gym and the rooftop lounge area.
What is your favourite room/spot in your suite? What is your decorating style?
We find ourselves using our kitchen and living room the most. We brought our traditional furniture with us from our house and don’t plan on going modern anytime soon.
What are your favourite local businesses in your new neighbourhood?
Since we have lived in the area for 38 years, we have our favourite store and restaurants and that hasn’t changed with our move to The Cooperage, except we now love Proof Kitchen and love the proximity to Uptown Waterloo!
What would you tell someone interested in living at The Cooperage?
We would tell anyone interested in The Cooperage to sign a lease and move in and enjoy! There is lots of diversity in the age groups living at The Cooperage.
What is the best thing about living in Uptown Waterloo?
The proximity to the Rec Centre, Waterloo Park, and Uptown Waterloo are real perks. Everything is so close!
What makes The Cooperage home for you?
We do not miss our house and love that we have made a home here. We love living on one floor with every room adjacent to one another, especially with the ensuite laundry facility.
