Resident Spotlight: Meet Lindsay Coulter

In our last resident spotlight we introduced you to Aidan Redpath, an engineer at Google Kitchener-Waterloo who calls The Onyx at The Barrel Yards his home. This month we hop over to The Cooperage at the Barrel Yards to meet Lindsay Coulter who lives with her fiancé, Taylor Jackson, their adorable bulldog Richard and cat Penelope. Lindsay is a lifelong Waterloo Region resident and is happy to now call The Cooperage home.
In this resident spotlight, we find out why Lindsay chose to live at the Barrel Yards, what she enjoys about the Schaefer layout, and what she loves about Uptown Waterloo and more.
Why did you choose the Barrel Yards?
Taylor and I love Waterloo – we travel quite a bit, but coming home always reminds us how lucky we are to live in such a vibrant community. The Barrel Yards rental community caught our attention because of the amazing location right next to Waterloo Park offering up amazing views for us to snap.
We both work from home so it’s important to us that the place we live has lots of room for both an office and living space. The layout of the Schaefer unit is perfect for people who work from home because our office and living space feel very separate. The combination of the view and the accessibility to the uptown core is something that no other building in the Waterloo region offers.
What do you like most about living at the Barrel Yards Rental Community?
We love entertaining so the open concept kitchen and living room is amazing. In the summer we spend the majority of our time out on our balcony with friends and neighbours who we’ve gotten really close with since moving in.
What is your favourite on-site amenity?
I love the rooftop patio – it has the best view of the park and it’s a great spot to spend time with friends and family.
How do you like living in Uptown Waterloo?
I love living Uptown Waterloo – I don’t think I could ever move away from this area. I have so many favourite local businesses but two of my current favourites are Write Impressions and Failte Irish Pub!
What would you tell someone interested in living at The Barrel Yards?
We’ve actually had a few close friends move into The Barrel Yards since we’ve moved in, so really the rental suites speak for themselves. Finding a rental suite that feels like home can be tough, but this has felt like home since we moved in and I think everyone who lives here feels the same!
