Resident Spotlight: Meet Kelsey Burdett

In our last resident spotlight we introduced you to Asimina Arvanitaki, a physicist at the Perimeter Institute. This month we chatted with Kelsey Burdett, an eCommerce Consultant at ShopifyPlus. Kelsey is from New Brunswick and completed her education at Carleton University in Ottawa. You could say she’s been slowly moving towards Waterloo.
In this resident spotlight we find out why Kelsey chose to live at the Barrel Yards, what she loves about UpTown Waterloo and more.
Why did you choose to live at The Barrel Yards Rental Community?
When making the move from Ottawa, I was looking for a building that was a good value, had great amenities and was close to my work. Once I visited, I knew The Barrel Yards was a perfect fit.
What do you like most about living at The Barrel Yards?
Of course, The Barrel Yards has the best amenities that I have ever seen. They were the biggest selling point for me. The location is also amazing. It takes me three minutes to walk to work; I can’t think of too many people who can say that. It will be extra nice in the winter. I can put up with the -40-degree weather when my commute is short.
What is your favourite on-site amenity?
I’m on the rooftop patio the most. I use the grills frequently, and the patio is perfect for reading and relaxing. Sometimes I’ll catch up on work emails and calls up there too. It also overlooks Waterloo Park, which looks spectacular.
How do you like living in UpTown Waterloo?
I’m really enjoying it. Waterloo feels like a small city but it has everything you need. I am literally steps away from restaurants, shops and places to go out. Once the construction is done, the LRT will be very close as well.
What would you tell someone interested in living at The Barrel Yards?
If you are looking for an upscale apartment, I wouldn’t bother looking anywhere else! The Barrel Yards has everything in one package and is even pet-friendly. I have to mention this – I have met the nicest people living at the Barrel Yards. The tenants living here are very welcoming.
