Resident Spotlight: Meet Kerilynn Mathers

In our last resident spotlight we introduced to you to Jessica Stever, who was looking for an effortless move-in space and discovered it in The Barrel Yards Executive Suites. This month, we chatted with Kerilynn Mathers, a real estate professional working for Remax Twin City Realty in Waterloo. Kerilynn is currently living at The Onyx South Tower at The Barrel Yards with her boyfriend Fraser and their 3 month old puppy, Harvey.
Why did you choose to live at The Barrel Yards Rental Community?
Growing up in Waterloo and both going to Wilfrid Laurier University, it was our goal to find a home that allowed for us to experience all that Uptown Waterloo has to offer. The Barrel Yards allows us to do exactly that! We love walking to new coffee shops and restaurants, and this is the perfect location for that!
What do you like most about living at The Barrel Yards?
We absolutely love the sense of community that The Barrel Yards offers. Every time we’re outside with Harvey, we meet someone new or say hello to other residents we have met previously. Everyone is so friendly and even Harvey has lots of new puppy friends throughout the buildings!
We love the stress-free lifestyle that comes with living here. Being very busy with work and with Fraser being a competitive athlete, The Barrel Yards allows us to lock the door and be stress-free when we’re on the road. When we come home, we can pick up exactly where we left off.
What is your favourite on-site amenity?
We love the movie theatre – it allows us to watch sports events with friends and family on the big screen or host family movie nights with our friends and their kids. Who wouldn’t love a movie theatre to themselves!
How do you like living in UpTown Waterloo?
We can’t imagine living anywhere else – being walking distance to everything we need and feeling part of such a great community is something we love.
What would you tell someone interested in living at The Barrel Yards?
We have yet to meet anyone who is disappointed with their decision to make the move to The Barrel Yards. Being a real estate professional, I see countless condominiums and rental units everyday. The Barrel Yards continues to exceed my expectations and we are so happy to call this our home!
