Resident Spotlight: Katie, Jesse and Echo

For this month’s resident spotlight, we are thrilled to feature Katie, Jesse, and Echo! Since moving to one of our live/work units in November, they have been happy to call The Barrel Yards home. Katie and Jesse are two lawyers who met in prison while studying at Queen’s Law. They left downtown Toronto to start their law firm, LG LAW GROUP, which is now open for business. Echo works hard at the family business as the Office Pup, Chief Barketing Officer, and Office Security.
Echo shares her thoughts about living at The Barrel Yards with her pawrents (and bosses!) Katie and Jesse. We are excited to have them making memories here at The Barrel Yards!
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE THE BARREL YARDS?
Echo: My pawrents chose The Barrel Yards for its proximity to Uptown Waterloo and dog-friendly location. I love our live/work unit at The Barrel Yards because I get to spend all day with my pawrents and our clients (I usually just snuggle at their feet during appointments).
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY THE MOST ABOUT LIVING AT THE BARREL YARDS?
Dog-watching from the balcony! I have made so many friends that my pawrents started a Facebook group, Barrel Yards Dog Neighbours! You can follow my adventures on Instagram @lawofficepup.
I also love that we are right across from Waterloo Park, so my pawrents can take me on long walks and play dates. You have probably seen them walking me around, feeding me treats, and handing out my business cards!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ON-SITE AMENITY?
The multiple pet waste stations around the development make life a lot easier for my parents, and happy pawrents means more treats for me!!!
HAVE YOU MADE ANY OTHER PUP FRIENDS AT THE BARREL YARDS?
I have two boyfriends, and they are both white and fluffy. I grew up with my first love, Osito, and then met Theo shortly thereafter. They are best friends! It’s complicated.
I also recently started spending time with another Samoyed, Simba. You could say I have a type!
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE CONSIDERING LIVING AT THE BARREL YARDS?
The Barrel Yards is a pawsitively great community in a vibrant city. There is so much to do here, and all of it is within walking distance. Plus, you have great lawyers and an office pup at your service. What’s not to love?
